WHY DID JESUS ASK HIS DISCIPLES TO GATHER?

There isn’t even a prayer recorded where Jesus asks God to miraculous make a little into a lot. The Bible did not even record Jesus saying some “Special Prayers” on the 5 loaves and 2 fish. You see, it was customary for the Jews to give thanks before every meal and that is what Jesus did; Jesus just BELIEVED that there was enough, more than enough and that there would be leftovers. So He gave Thanks- AND THERE WAS!

You see, Jesus operates out of an abundance mentality. He always KNOWS that His Father’s GRACE Super Exceeds all NEEDS and within a crowd, there is enough, more than enough, abundance. Even Leftovers! You and I have been operating under the “lack mentality” and “need mentality” for far too long-this is what the world taught us. It is time to put these mentalities aside and look at Jesus with an abundance mentality- To see before the Eyes can see and to give thanks before the Eye does. SO WHY GATHER THE LEFTOVERS? Was Jesus showing to us the value of the little blessings in life? Did He do it to fulfill scripture that we may know the significance of the 12 baskets to the 12 tribes of Israel, Or the 12 Disciples? Or that each disciple could keep 1 basketful? All this could be true.

HERE IS WHAT YOU PROBABLY DIDN'T KNOW: THAT JESUS ACTUALLY FED THE 5000 WITH LEFTOVERS. AND IN THE END HE HAD MORE LEFTOVERS THAN HE STARTED WITH. You see that little boy had carried them with him all the while and had been eating, most likely. What was left for his afternoon meal was the 5 loaves and 2 fish- his leftover. The Canaan woman said, “Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table” and Jesus said she had great faith [Matthew 15:22-28]. (only 2 people did Jesus talk of in the Bible as having great faith; this woman was one. Who was the other?). This woman VALUED THE LITTLE CRUMBS- THE LITTLE BLESSINGS- and it was accounted unto her as GREAT FAITH. Beloved, if you will value the little miracles and blessings that come our way every day and give thanks ALWAYS; you will see endless MIRACLES in your LIFE. Amen! 1. COUNT YOUR LITTLE BLESSINGS AND BE THANKFUL: How many times have you thanked God for the smooth drive to the office; For that Taxi Driver who gave you way when you crossed the road; For your little child that smiled at you and made you smile back. Beloved, to count your blessings no matter how small they are, will give you a thankful heart for those little blessings; and He will do exceedingly abundantly above all that you think or ask [Ephesians 3:20-21]; such that after you are blessed you will count your leftover blessings on others around you and realize how big you have been blessed and they with you. GIVE THANKS TO JESUS. 2. NOTHING IS WASTED IN GOD’S KINGDOM: When we pray for a particular thing that never happens, let us not think we did not pray RIGHT or there were some specific utterances we should have made? BELOVED NO PRAYER IS WASTED. Every Prayer you say has a Spiritual significance because WE KNOW that all things (good and bad) work together for our good [Romans 8:28]. Beloved, You are not a waste. On the contrary-You are a Blessing! You are His BELOVED! Rejoice Now! (Isaiah 54:1) for He values you more than the Birds in the skies who do not think or ask for what they will eat but are always filled by YOUR ABBA every day![ Matthew 6:25-34] 3. A SPIRITUAL TRUTH: When we hear sermons most a times we filter them according to what we have need of at the particular moment. If we are sick, we want to hear sermons about healing, so that a message about Marriage is of less significance to us. Jesus shows us to hold on to every good word (1 Thessalonians 5:16-24) we hear and meditate on it; for God’s word is not waste. 4. A NATURAL TRUTH: When things happen to us, no matter what forms they come in; let us THANK JESUS ALWAYS. When you were made to wait in Church for the Pastor who never came, so you were eventually asked to go home and come later. Do not think this was time wasted? THANK HIM for it; for there is nothing WASTED in God’s Kingdom; especially when you are doing His work. So Beloved, when you partake of Jesus, partake wholly and leave nothing. If you partake of His word, partake fully and leave nothing out-Hold on to that which is Good; for every one of His Word is Good- why His word is called THE GOOD NEWS-THE GOSPEL]. If you partake of the Communion, partake WHOLLY by realizing the value of what you eat - THE BODY AND BLOOD OF JESUS. Our FINITE MINDS limit us, that we are unable to comprehend the Things of God as we live in time and He lives outside of time (Psalm 90:4); But He always gives us FRESH IMPARTATIONS of His Knowledge for Everyday to Understand Him more and More and these Beautiful Revelations come in the form of rain drops, bite by bite so that our finite minds may UNDERSTAND- (For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven…so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth…Isaiah 55:10–11).

God Bless You!
