Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing, and perfect will. - Romans 12:2
"Don't be molded by the world." Now, isn't that a tough one to follow? It's a reminder that what we think, can be the deepest battleground for spiritual warfare.
Unclean thinking is more than messy; it's dangerous! This is because we constantly feed on messages that distort God's truth and Holy values. Rather than being enraged by worldly madness, and participating in the devil's playground, let us vow to transform ourselves by renewing our minds with His holy words and anchoring ourselves to His promises. By doing so, Paul says, we take every evil thought, every word, captive for Christ. By giving ten percent of our money as tithe, we often think that we have completed our Christian obligation of sacrifice. However, a necessary sacrifice is giving ourselves up totally to Him and rendering our undivided attention to His ways!
PLEASE PRAY WITH ME: O Lord, please guard my soul against pride, my heart from callousness, and my mind against too much focus on unimportant things and not enough on your things. Teach me what it means to be about my Father's business in my heart, especially in the world of my thoughts! In the name of Jesus, my most excellent example of one who knew and lived your will, I pray. AMEN.
