GOD Isn't Absent

God isn’t absent. He is active. Everyone else comes and goes. There are no new text messages. The email is filled with junk mail. God isn’t absent. He is behind the waiting. We don’t know what He is doing. His work is invisible to us, and we struggle to see. To believe things will get better. But God isn’t absent. There is a chasm between us and the world. We wonder if we fall into the abyss will we survive?

Don’t fall. Jump. Jump into the hole of the unknown because you will find a bed of grace right there at the bottom. There is a light there. God is not absent. Embrace this season. For when we take hold of this, we take hold of what God is doing in our lives. We can trust that He is always working. But for now, instead of looking around for His hand, know this truth: He is not absent. His presence is here.

No, you don’t understand. No, the storm is still raging on. No, the heartache still hurts. God is not absent. He’s never left. So we hold on to His name in the dark. The light might take a while to shine, but you are not alone in the loneliness. God is not absent when the world explodes. God will not abandon us while we wait for this to pass. This hurt will not always feel so close to you, but you do not wait alone.

I will praise You forever because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints, I will wait on Your name, for it is good. Psalm 52:9

God says to wait upon His name. So say His name knowing He is not absent. Say it to your heart when the tears fall. Say His name.

Jesus. God. Heavenly Father. Abba. Savior. Redeemer. Elohim. Jehovah. Yahweh.

Say His name in the absence of your friends. Say His name in the absence of answers. Say His name in the absence of joy. Say His name knowing He will never lead us away from Him. He is here.
